According to the book, “Women and Leadership”, written by Deborah Rhode and Barbara Kellerman, only 2% of Fortune 500 CEOs are women. Even in the direct selling industry, where women make up 80% of distributors, not many are leaders. In QNET, female leaders make up 30%.

Women have all the capabilities men have to succeed, so, why this disparity? We look at some of the most successful female career women out there and bring you their tips for success. So, let’s learn and Raise the Bar Higher, ladies!

Sheryl Sandberg One woman who has been in the limelight lately, thanks to her new book, ‘Lean In’, is Facebook Chief Operating Officer, Sheryl Sandberg. She is undoubtedly the inspiration of many young women and is arguably one of the most successful businesswomen today. She is also a fervent supporter of women.

“We hold ourselves back in ways both big and small, by lacking self-confidence, by not raising our hands, and by pulling back when we should be leaning in,” she says.

Perhaps the most admirable thing about her is that, unlike many feminists, she doesn’t put men down. Instead, she focuses on giving women the confidence to stand up and believe in themselves. She admits her flaws and relates her experience for all to learn from.

QNET Executive Chairperson, Donna Imson, agrees wholeheartedly. In her blog post, Why Women Can Succeed, she says the innate strengths and skills women have are what make them poised to succeed. She explains in the video below.

She’s probably one of the more outspoken advocates of women rights in the Network Marketing industry. Donna conceptualised I’m Alive, a special training programme that aims to raise the level of involvement and stature of women professionals in the direct selling industry globally.

She says, “Appreciate ourselves, our femininity, and inherent strengths: women are great collaborators, communicators, and connectors. Plus we tend to be better at relating to others.”

AartiMen and women have different strengths, and women should capitalise on these strengths that make them unique.  A success story who has put this advice to good use is Aarati Dighe, one of QNET’s first female Diamond Stars. She used her “blend of strength and love”, as she describes it, to succeed in Network Marketing.

One thing all these women have in common is the hard work they have put in. It’s possible to balance a family and a fast-paced job, it won’t be easy but it’s very possible.

So, women, let’s learn and be inspired by one another, be EXTRAORDINARY and use our strengths to propel ourselves to the top!
